Outstanding A Level Results at Ferndown Upper School

~ Ferndown Upper School students received their long-awaited results this morning. They have been a lovely cohort throughout their time at Ferndown Upper and have deservedly performed extremely well in their A Levels ~

The school’s headline figures continued to be in line with previous years, with 100% pass rate and over half of the students’ grades being the highest possible, A* – B.

Following a number of standout individual exam performances, all Sixth Formers have secured their places at the universities or apprenticeships of their choice, including some top UK institutions, such as Cambridge and other Russell Group institutions.

Among them was Amy Stevens, who will be taking up a place to study Philosophy at Cambridge University.

Other standout A Level performances include:

  • Max Paulwell, who has secured a place at the University of Bath to read Computer Science after achieving three A*s;
  • Joe O’Connor who also received 3 A*s and will study Law at Bristol and
  • Sophie Ing, Joseph Booth, Daniel Beaman and Rosie Matthews, all received two A*s and an A and are going to Ferndown Upper (Foundation Art), Bristol (Chemistry), Bath (Robotic Engineering) and Cardiff (Dentistry) respectively;

Standout vocational performances include;

  • Erin Safder and Katie Bowring who gained Double Distinction* and an A grade and will study at UAE (Occupational Therapy) and Chichester (Social Work);
  • Jake Safder who received Double Distinction* and a Distinction and will go to Swansea (Exercise Science) and
  • Ben Phillips who achieved Triple Distinction* and is going to Southampton Solent (Journalism).

Congratulations also to Liam Foote for securing a prestigious Degree Apprenticeship with JP Morgan after receiving a Distinction for his Digital T Level.

Philip Jones, Headteacher, congratulated all of the students, saying:

“We are all incredibly proud of all our students as they celebrate today. These grades represent years of hard work, determination and dedication. What is particularly pleasing is the breadth of success across all subject areas, from the sciences and mathematics to the arts, humanities and vocational qualifications”.
