Outstanding A Level Results Again at Ferndown Upper School
~ Ferndown Upper School students rose to the occasion and today received their long-awaited exam results. They have been superb throughout their two years of studies and have deservedly performed extremely well in their A Levels ~
The school’s headline figures continued to be in line with previous years with 100% pass rate and over half of the students’ grades being of the highest possible.
Following a number of standout individual exam performances, all Sixth Formers have secured their places at the universities and apprenticeships of their choice, including some top UK institutions.
Among them was Adam Kemp, who will be taking up a place to study Computer Science at the University of Exeter after achieving two A*’s in Mathematics and Further Maths and two A’s in Computer Science and Physics.
Other Sixth Formers celebrating included:
- Eloise Cowley, who has secured a place at the University of Bristol to read Engineering Mathematics after achieving one A* and two A grades in Mathematics, Further Maths and Physics;
- Erin Rolfe, who will be going to the University of Durham to study Mathematics after achieving an A* and two As in Mathematics, Further Maths and Physics;
- Jacob Wischhusen, who achieved an A* and two As in Mathematics, Biology and Chemistry and will now be taking up a place at University of Birmingham to study Medicine.
- The school would also like to celebrate the following three students; Abbie Tucker, Maddison King and Xavier Evora, for securing their prestigious Degree Apprenticeships with JP Morgan after receiving their Digital Design Production Development T Level, the first cohort though Ferndown Upper.
- Esha Heetoo has just completed her Diploma in Education and Childcare after restarting sixth form two years ago. “It took four years but I never gave up and it all worked out. I’ve achieved an A grade and am now going to Southampton Solent to study Social Work!”
- Jacob Wisschhusen said,” I am delighted with my results; I achieved higher than I thought I would. I’m now living out my dream of going to Birmingham University to read Medicine.”
- Millie Orr said, “I’ve very, very happy! I’m off to Cardiff to study Nursing!”
Philip Jones, Headteacher, congratulated all of the students, saying:
“We are all incredibly proud of our students, as they celebrate today, and they reflect upon the hard work and determination that has led them to this point. It is particularly gratifying to see so many of them achieving the grades they need to secure places at their universities and apprenticeships of choice – including a number of the UK’s top Russell Group institutions.
“I also want to offer my thanks to our staff team, whose support and encouragement has been invaluable. I know they will want to join me in congratulating students and wishing them well as they take their next steps as young adults. We look forward to hearing about all their future successes.”
