Letter To Parents 3rd January 2022

3rd January 2022

Dear Parents and Carers,

Happy New Year, I hope you all had a relaxing and enjoyable holiday and we are looking forward to seeing the students back in lessons on Wednesday 5th.

Please remember the schedule of testing for the students on Tuesday 4th. The students only need to come into school to test on this Tuesday, there will be no face-to-face lessons and they will have remote learning available on Teams to access whenever they are able to. Also remember that if you cannot get into the school on the 4th – then you can email a photo of your negative LFT test to

You may also have seen reports about the shortage of LFD test kits at the moment. The good news is that the school has a large supply available, and the students may pick up packs from the school hall when they have their test on the Tuesday, after their assemblies or at break and lunch time. If the students are unable to pick up further tests because they are self-isolating, then please call the school’s reception to arrange a pick up time.

Finally, the government has confirmed that staff and pupils who have had COVID may now return to school from isolation on day 8 if they have tested negative on an LFT on days 6 and 7.

The only other main change was that the DfE has also announced that students in year 7 and above should now wear masks in lessons, but we were ahead of the curve on that decision and have been doing that since last November.

Yours faithfully,

Philip Jones
